Blend Story
Colombia Espresso: A Bold Symphony of Flavor
From the lush highlands of Medellín, Colombia, our single-origin Colombia Espresso showcases the very essence of the region's rich terroir. Grown at altitudes of 1300 to 1500 meters, these beans are nurtured by smallholder farmers using advanced solar drying techniques to preserve the vibrant flavor profile while protecting the beans from the elements. This careful process allows the coffee to retain its bright, sweet berry notes and subtle cacao tones, creating a balanced yet complex flavor. Roasted to a medium profile, Colombia Espresso offers a juicy, alluring sweetness, with a touch of dried orange that enhances both its depth and brightness. We take pride in roasting these beans at high temperatures for an extended time, a method that unlocks the oils within the beans and amplifies the bold, rich character espresso lovers crave. This slow, deliberate roasting brings out a concentrated, velvety richness, while preserving the coffee’s brightness and nuance. Whether enjoyed hot or cold, Colombia Espresso delivers a multi-dimensional experience, with a bright, juicy start that finishes with the bold intensity that defines a perfect espresso.
Behind Craft Espresso
Our Custom Process
Colombia Espresso’s distinct flavor is shaped by its high-altitude cultivation, solar drying, and extended, high-temperature roasting process. Grown at 1300-1500 meters, the beans ripen slowly, allowing sugars and organic acids to accumulate, resulting in a complex flavor profile with bright berry notes and mild acidity. Solar drying gently removes moisture while preserving the beans' sugars and acids, ensuring that their natural sweetness and brightness remain intact. This careful drying process also prevents unwanted fermentation, maintaining the juicy and nuanced flavors that define Colombia Espresso. The beans are roasted at high temperatures for an extended time, which enhances the coffee’s rich and bold character. During roasting, the Maillard reaction and caramelization processes develop deep chocolate and caramel-like flavors, while also facilitating the extraction of oils that give espresso its velvety texture. Despite the long roast, careful control of heat exposure ensures that the coffee retains its bright citrus and berry notes, resulting in a smooth, concentrated espresso with balanced acidity and sweetness.
